CD LIBRARIES OF 303 SOUNDS
The TB-303 has become so popular
today that some companies decided to release a few sampling CD's full of 303
sound, loops and stuff ... Of course we are not stupid, and we all know that
using a loop from a sample CD is somewhere as useless as sampling a 303 loop
on a record because :
- You CANT tweak the sound realtime
(and that's exactly what the 303 is about !!).
- You CANT create your own bassline
with the exceptional 303 sequencer.
Well it sounds like those CDs' are
pretty useless and you'd better buy a 303 clone if you cant afford the real
one ! But anyway, with those 303 sampling cd's you can maybe discover some interesting
basslines for background stuff or for single note samples ...
Please be prudent with those sampling
CD, you know it's so easy to create you own CDs today that anyone with a 303
and lot of free time could sample bullshit things and record a few loops ! I
mean you dont have a large sound area to discover with a 303, a Minimoog sample
CD could easily contains lot of different sounds, but a 303 could only create
303 sounds ... Beware of the thief and always check the sampling CD by yourself
before buying ! Dont forget that saving money from a few sampling CD would allow
you to buy at least a clone and be really creative with it!

I didnt checked this sampling CD, so I can't tell you if it's sonically
good or bad, but the few infos I got are speaking about 5000 single note
samples (with different knobs settings at different pitches ... just sounds
like a pain in the ass to create something with so much samples !) and additional
303 loops plus 909 and 808 drumkits.
Ok ok, sounds like a toy CD for acid freak ?! Could a professinal techno
composer use this one ? I dont know ... Could a 'for fun' composer could
use this one ? Well, you need a sampler, or at least a PC with a tracker/soundcard,
maybe a good way to start composing acid, but as far as I didnt check the
CD I couln't recommend it, it's price isnt the lowest on the market : 59
US $, at least cheaper than the original silver box !
