Operating system : Win95

TS-404 is another software synth emulator. It does feature a Seq-303-like sequencer and a generator with two Oscillators featuring a special "303 saw" waveform, distortion unit, Hi/Low/Band-pass filter (12/24 db), LFO, Mixer with FM and Ring Mod, FX. A great tool for basslines, easy to use, which deliverm warm sound.
Great program ! You can get it at http://come.to/richy so get it NOW !
Operating system : Win95

Pump is not a sound creation tool, but a sequencer, wich feature (as you can see on the screen picture here above) a special "monosynth" editor which instantly reminds the good'old TB ! You can program basslines just like on the famous silver box with this program and add Accent/Slide.
This excellent sequencer is still in beta development, the is no web page yet.

Another software synth emulator, a bit like RUBBER DUCK. Overall sound quality isnt exciting and the interface is still buggy. You can try it for free at C3 System web site.
This is just the best 303 emulator today. First because of the sound quality it produces : virtual analog at it's best, two 303, a 808 and a 909 on your screen, realtime tweaking, midi synchronisation, wave dump, original sequencers with the same features as the original TB-303 (slide, accent, transpose ...) and a great song mode where all patterns are linked and all tweaking recorded realtime. The perfect techno production tool for minimal acid shit !
Rebirth also features a synced digital delay, a distortion unit, volume faders and pan. A Virtual recording studio at your mouse clicks !
A demo of the latest version as well
as ordering system is available at Propellerheads (fathers of this software
project) web site you can reach HERE.
Just brilliant and fun !
Rubduck is a realtime analog synth emulation with the same controls as the TB-303 and a few more features.
Just have a look at the main screen : everything is realtime.
It doesnt sound exactly like a TB-303, esp. the filter. If you compare to the REBIRTH-338 it's far away the TB-303 sounds, esp. with the high frequencies of the filter. It's more like the sound of a juno-106 with TB-303 controls.
Just a program for all you guys who dont want to spend big money over clones or the real TB !!!
You can check the RUBBERDUCK Homepage and get the latest release of the program...
Virtual wave is a french program for MS Windows. The concept is the same as virtual synthesis synthesizers, but it's not realtime, let me explain you :
You have different type of wave generation
systems : Oscillators, Noise, samples (.wav), arithmetic functions, FM operators
(4 to 8) ... which create a basic wave.
Of course you can mix several input together to create some of your old favorites
sounds, and you have several preferences for each module (square osc, saw osc,
pink noise, white noise ....)
Then your input module is routed to a modifier module, a large variety of modules are alvailable such as filters, amplifiers, reverser, delayer, arpegiator (more like a 16-step analog sequencer) and so on... Once again you can mix various input to various modifiers, then again to modifiers and so on ... In fact you can do everything you want, but if your structure is complex the calculation time will be also very long !!!
Once the wave is calculated, you can play it, loop it, save it ... IT'S REALLY POWERFULL and amazing ... but sometimes very hard to use if you're new to musical synthesis.
Fortunately you have a lot of predefined
'synth'-models you can calculate, and that's why this program is a feature of
the 303 pages : you have about 10x 303 models already build and ready to use,
those models just create a basic sound, you can use it as a wave file, or add
the arpegiator module to create the lines. The result depends on the preferences
you have chosen for the basic sound, but it's quite nice for that kind of music
generation software.
It's a bit frustrating because the calculation time is sometimes long, but you
can experiment a lot and create a wide range of sound.
An excellent complement for your sampler !
Finally here is the DEMO version of release 2.0 available at SYNOPTIC WEB PAGE
The first 303 emulator for you PC + GUS card.
Give it a try by clicking HERE (a 61k zip file for DOS).
It's not that bad, except that you can do realtime stuff ... but it looks like a real 303, but doesn't really sound like it ....
BTW it's a freeware program !!
Audio Architect is a virtual synthesis software program, please point your browser to http://www.audioarchitect.com for more infos.
Here we give you the tutorial to get 303 sounds out of it (courtesy of Max Malcom) :
303 Emulation with Audio Architect ============================ The distinctive sound of the TB 303 characterises an entire genre of modern dance music. It has therefore become one of the most sought after synthesisers ever made. The TB 303 was designed to make base lines, thus there are two facets to using the 303, the synthesis of the sound and programming the sequencer. The synthesis is used to make the actual bass sound, whereas the sequencer is used to make the base line. 1. The first module is the sequencer. Connect Channel 1 to the oscillator for the note values. Alternatively, this connection could be passed through a lag time processor to get the slide effects. 2. Pass the audio-out from the oscillator through an amplifier module. 3. Place an envelope above the oscillator with a gate output from the sequencer as its input. Connect the output of the envelope to the control 1 input of the amplifier. 4. The audio output of the amplifier should then go into the low pass filter and its output to the output module of the network. 5. You can now use the envelope you already have or add another (connecting its input from the gate output of the sequencer) to control the modulation of the filter parameters. The output of this envelope should be connected to the cut-off frequency, or resonance, or both, of the filter. You have now replicated the basic architecture of the 303. Setting the parameters Channel 1 of the sequencer is for the note values, enter the desired pattern here, (note that middle C is 45 and a semi-tone difference is equal to 1). Assign Channel 2 to accents. Ensure that the notes box is NOT checked for this channel. To accent a step in the pattern, use standard control values where 8000 is a slight accent, 16000 is a medium accent and 32000 is a full accent. Connect the output to the control 2 input of the amplifier and to the resonance input of the low pass filter (via a control mixer if you are also modulating the resonance with an envelope). If you find that the output starts to distort you might want to scale one of these signals down by routing it through an offset module with a negative value set within it. Assign Channel 3 to note length offset, which allows you to have a non regular rhythmic pattern. Note length offset is an input for the sequencer so this channel will run as a loop from the sequencer back into it. The value in this channel is added to the step time, i.e. if the step time is set to 100ms then a value of 0 entered in a step will give a note length of 100ms; a value of 100ms will give a note of 200ms in length. You can also have shorter notes by entering negative values. The Oscillator should have its wave form set to either square or saw tooth. Other parameters in the network can be set to your own tastes. **Using an FIR instead of a Low Pass Filter** The 303 sound depends on a Low Pass Filter, so only registered users of Audio Architect will be able to accurately emulate a 303. An alternative to using the Low Pass Filter is the Finite Impulse Response filter. However using this, it is impossible to recreate the same effects, though the results are interesting. Set two coefficients to .05, or four coefficients set to 0.25. Accents will not really work using an FIR, Instead use the coefficient inputs from channel 2 of the sequencer. This can give some unpredictable effects. A selection of 303 networks and a more in depth version of this tutorial are available on our Web Site - http://www.audioarchitect.com Good luck Max Malcolm
WaveCraft is a program similar to VIRTUAL WAVE, less complex and in english. The Lite version is fully functional but not complete enough for extravaganza sounds.
Anyway i gives a good idea of what the full version is capable of ... a cool 'sound-rendering' program.
Click here to download a 500k 'lite' version in english wich allow you 1 osc, 1 filter and 1 env in a 2x5 grid. You can save your project allong with the calculated wave file.
The full released costs $90, here are the infos :
WaveCraft Lite offers only a small, but fully-functional, subset of the facilities in WaveCraft. The full system offers fifteen different types of module: * Oscillator (saw/sine/triangle/pulse) with sync * Low frequency oscillator (saw/sine/triangle/pulse) with sync -- good for vibratos * Noise generator -- vital for percussion patches * Clock -- with optional beats-per-minute calibration * Low-pass resonant filter * High-pass resonant filter * Envelope generator * Glide -- portamento effects * Sample and hold -- bubbly effects with the noise generator * Sequencer, with up to 16 looped steps -- great for basslines * Control-voltage source, for easily driving several modules at the same voltage level * Amplitude modulator -- ring modulation and volume control * Voltage-controlled amplifier * Mixer -- up to 4 inputs for fat sounds * Inverter It can also handle WAV file input, for processing existing samples with the filters etc. The full system also supports a much larger grid size, of up to eighty interconnected modules, allowing much more complex sounds to be designed. Closer integration with your wave-table sound card or sampler is possible, with a configurable utility menu, from which you can run up to four of your favourite programs, such as sample editors and downloaders.
It comes on CD-ROM (lot of exemples & waves ???), you could contact :

This is not a sound creation program but a sequencing tool which allow you to create up to 16 steps pattern sequences a la tb-303. It means with slide and accent. Of course the result is sent via midi to any of your 303 clone or midi synth. The results are always cools, the concept behind the program is a bit the same like a Doepfer MAQ 16/3 sequencer (minus the amount of feature you have on the MAQ).
Nice sequencing tool. A new improved version is out now which feature NRPM support for the MC-303 filter section ...
HERE you can download the latest version of this program.
