KURZWEIL K-2000

else.)
Well, you can at least make it sound sorta like a 303.
First of all, create a new program. Use a keymap like Sawtooth or
something. Okay? Now, go to the AMP page. Assign controller 1 to mod src
1, with a depth of 48dB. There's your volume knob.
Now, go to the ALG page, and select "4-Pole Filter W/Res". Go to F3 SEP,
and crank it up pretty high. Now, go to F1 FRQ, and crank it way, way down.
Assign controller 2 to mod src 1.
Go to F2 RES, and crank it down to 0. Assign controller 3 to mod src 1. Go
to ENV 2, and use the following values:
Atk1: 0.00s Atk2: 0.00s Atk3: 0.00s Dcy1: 0.10s
100% 100% 100% -100% (for that bipolar effect)
Go to F1 FRQ again, and assign ENV 2 (src #121) to mod src 2 and assign
controller 4 to mod dep. Go to the ENVCTL page and assign controller 6 to
Decay, with a modulation depth of 0.018x. Go to the OUTPUT page and use a
reverse crossfading with controller 1. Now set your first four controllers
to 2, 3, 4 and 6, and label them CUTOFF, RES, ENV MOD and DECAY. Assign
either your Kurzweil data slider or a magic 5th slider to controller 1. If
possible, set minimum value to 0 and max to 64. This gets you an overdrive
on ctl 1. Okay, now make another copy of the patch with a square wave.
Assign the assignable buttons to send patch changes which correspond to your
new patches, and label the switches "SAW" and "SQUARE". Envelope modulation
works bipolarally, and even though I haven't implemented accent (which would
probably require use of the function generators and other scary stuff), it's
not *that* hard.
